GeForce RTX 5070 Ti: 16 GB NVIDIA, expensive raster

The 5070 Ti is the NVIDIA 16 GB card people actually find in shops: 27,871 3DMark, 300 W, $1,299 on our 1 November 2026 snapshot. You pay for DLSS, CUDA, and NVENC, not for winning this particular 3DMark table.

Who the RTX 5070 Ti is for

Take this card if your apps are NVIDIA-shaped: DLSS 4 titles, Optix, NVENC delivery, CUDA photo tools, or a studio that already owns NVIDIA licenses. The 16 GB buffer is the practical reason to step up from the 12 GB 5070.

Do not take it if you only chase raster charts. The RX 9070 XT is faster in this 3DMark set and hundreds of dollars cheaper. A $1,299 5070 Ti is a software-stack purchase, not a value purchase.

Shop the 16 GB capacity first, then the price. If a 12 GB 5070 at $899 already covers your games, the Ti’s extra $400 is a software-stack decision. If your Blender scenes or mod lists have already crashed on 12 GB, the Ti is the NVIDIA row that still lives under a 5090-class fantasy.

Noise and length vary by partner. The 300 W class is where a cheap blower or a too-short cooler becomes the product you actually live with. Read recent owner notes for coil whine on the exact board, not the chip name.

RTX 5070 Ti specs that change the buy

16 GB versus 12 GB on the 5070 is the fork. Several 2025–2026 games and most local diffusion graphs start paging when you sit at 12 GB with mods. If you know you will run those, the Ti’s memory is the feature, not the CUDA core count.

300 W is within a few watts of the 9070 XT. Plan the same PSU class. Founders-style and triple-fan partner cards both need a case that does not dump exhaust into a vertical GPU sandwich.

RTX 5070 Ti 3DMark in context

27,871 sits second in this table, 7.6% behind the 9070 XT and 31% ahead of the 12 GB 5070. Street price, though, is 41% above the 9070 XT. Derived value lands near 21, among the weakest ratios here.

That is the honest read: you are not buying 3DMark/dollar. You are buying NVIDIA extras on a 16 GB board. If those extras are unused, this SKU is the wrong row.

Games and creative work on the 5070 Ti

1440p ultra with DLSS is the comfort zone. 4K is viable when the game’s upscaler is mature. Ray tracing is where NVIDIA usually takes the lead even when AMD wins a synthetic raster test — check the title’s RT path, not only Time Spy-style scores.

Creators get NVENC and CUDA plugins. Premiere, Resolve (NVIDIA path), Blender Optix, and many AI video tools still assume a GeForce driver. That ecosystem is why shops can charge $1,299 when AMD sells more 3DMark for $919.

For streaming, NVENC lets you keep the CPU for the game. That is a real reason to stay on GeForce even when the raster chart prefers the 9070 XT. It is not a reason to ignore a $380 gap if you never record.

Local AI on the 5070 Ti

16 GB CUDA is the nicest consumer setup in this list for ComfyUI, Flux at moderate resolution, and 7B–14B GGUF chat. It is still a consumer card: context length, batch size, and multi-adapter graphs will OOM. Do not confuse it with 80 GB rental SKUs.

If you already have CUDA scripts, staying on NVIDIA saves days of ROCm porting. That time has a price; just do not pretend the 3DMark chart agrees with the invoice.

Power and case notes

300 W plus a 2025 CPU wants 850 W as a floor and 1000 W if you overclock or run a second storage-heavy GPU later. Use the 12V-2x6 cable that came with the PSU, seated fully. Blackwell boards are unforgiving of loose power connectors.

Who should skip the RTX 5070 Ti

Skip it if the 9070 XT’s software stack works for you. Skip it if $1,299 crowds out the rest of the PC. Skip it if 12 GB is enough — the 5070 then makes more sense. Skip it if you actually needed a cloud H100, not a gaming card with a 16 GB sticker.

FAQ

Why is the 5070 Ti so expensive versus 3DMark?

Street price in this snapshot is far above launch MSRP. NVIDIA extras and 16 GB keep demand high even when AMD leads the synthetic chart.

5070 Ti or 5070?

Buy the Ti for 16 GB and the CUDA/DLSS stack at high presets. Buy the 5070 if 12 GB and $899 fit the build.

Can it replace a rented A100?

No. 16 GB GDDR and 80 GB HBM are different products. Use /gpus when the model does not fit.

Is 300 W a problem?

Only in small cases or weak PSUs. Treat it like a 70-class card, not a 60-class card.
